wt blog challenge PET PEEVES - Telemarketers

Telemarketers have to by my number one pet peeve. Everybody needs a job, but rally, can't these people find something else to do? Maybe scratch their nails on a chalk board or go streaking at ball games. what would be the difference!

THing I don't like about telemarketers

1. The use the auto dialer and speak to only the first person to answer. so 10 or more other people pick up their phone and no one is there...but your number is set in their system and they are bound and determined to talk to you. So this happens several times in a 30 minute period until you get your turn to hang up on the telemarketer.

2. The telemarketing recording - Hey, stay on the line to learn about some really great thing.....how great could it be if you are using a recording.

3. The telemarketer who tries to sound like they know you..."how are you?" I have hung up on friends, thinking they were telemarketers...eeechhhhh

4. The telemarketer who sounds overly excited. I sometimes give them a sales pitch to buy tupperware or spray on hair, or every what pops in my head...this confuses them for a few seconds, and it is fun.

I like to pretend I'm not who they have asked for and have them wait, and keep coming back asking them to keep holding....I have had telemarketers hold for at least 5 minutes.

I like to hand the phone over to my 5 year old and let him delight them with his knowledge of dinosaurs. I don't know how long they listen to him.

If the telemarketer speaks broken english, I speak my broken english back to them...

Then there is a rare day, that I might just say No Thanks and hang up....that is a RARE DAY!
